Project Description

Yarrington Distribution Center

Location: Kyle, Texas

Client: Level 10 Construction

Project Type: Institutional – Community Building

Scope: Warehouse Development – 5 Buildings

Project Overview

The Yarrington Distribution Center is a large-scale logistics and distribution project situated between Kyle and San Marcos, consisting of five warehouse shell buildings designed for future office and industrial build-outs. The development includes essential site infrastructure such as parking, ramps, drives, and utility corridors, intended to support high-volume distribution operations.

Each building, while similar in function, required meticulous structural detailing to accommodate specific design intents and site coordination needs.

Structures Online was entrusted with the complete steel detailing for all five buildings, ensuring fabrication-ready accuracy and seamless construction integration.

Scope of Work

A. Roof Ladder Systems

Each building featured a two-stage roof ladder system:

  • The first ladder runs from the finished floor to the mid-platform.

  • The second ladder continues from the platform to the roof.

  • This configuration required careful elevation mapping, bracket detailing, and clearance validation to meet OSHA standards and architectural coordination.

B. Ramp Rails

Ramps incorporated guardrails and safety rails, detailed to maintain site safety while accounting for slope variations and embedded anchorage conditions. Rail heights, terminations, and transitions were coordinated with both architectural and civil layouts.

C. Brace Frame Connections

Each building utilized steel brace frames for lateral load resistance. The detailing involved:

  • Field-welded and bolted connections

  • Consideration of seismic and wind loading

  • Integration of gusset plate geometry with moment frame constraints
High-precision modelling was essential to ensure alignment and erection efficiency.

D. Dock Stairs

Staircases were provided for accessing the warehouse with safety compliance. These were detailed to allow personnel to move between the loading dock platform and the ground safely and included landing platforms, stringer supports, and handrail systems tailored to varying field elevations.

Key Deliverables

  • 3D modelling for all structures to ensure accurate clash coordination

  • Deliverables included fabrication drawings, erection plans, and CNC data

  • Coordination with architectural, civil, and MEP teams for interface elements

  • Consistency across five buildings while accommodating unique on-site conditions

Project Outcome

Our detailing work enabled the project to maintain schedule alignment, reduce field conflicts, and streamline steel fabrication processes. By adapting to both repetitive and custom conditions across the five structures, Structures Online contributed to a smooth and scalable construction
