Project Description

Yarrington Distribution Center

Location: 24801 North Interstate 35, Kyle, Texas
Project Type: Logistics & Distribution – Warehouse Development
Scope: Steel Detailing for Five Industrial Shell Buildings

Project Overview

The Yarrington Distribution Center is a large-scale logistics and distribution hub located between Kyle and San Marcos, Texas. The development consists of five warehouse shell buildings designed to support future office and industrial fit-outs. Supporting infrastructure includes parking, truck ramps, driveways, and utility corridors — all tailored for high-volume, high-efficiency operations.

Structures Online was engaged to provide comprehensive steel detailing across all five buildings, ensuring fabrication-ready precision and seamless integration for on-site execution. Each structure, though similar in purpose, demanded distinct detailing strategies due to varying design intents and site conditions.

Scope of Work

Our detailing scope included:

  • A. Roof Ladder SystemsTwo-stage ladders running from the finished floor to the mid-platform, and from the platform to the roof
Careful bracket detailing, elevation mapping, and OSHA-compliant clearance validation
Architectural coordination for platform access and safety

  • B. Ramp RailsGuardrails and safety rails integrated into ramps
Rail height adjustments for site slope variations
Embedded anchorage detailing and coordination with architectural/civil drawings

  • C. Brace Frame ConnectionsSteel brace frames for lateral load resistance
    Field-welded and bolted joints
Integration with seismic/wind loads and gusset plate constraints
Moment frame coordination for structural stability

  • D. Ramp StairsStairs at ramp terminations for safe personnel access
Detailed for slope alignment, landing platforms, and field elevations
Custom handrails and stringer supports tailored per site condition

Key Deliverables

  • 3D modeling for all five structures with clash detection

  • Fabrication drawings, erection plans, and CNC data packages

  • Interdisciplinary coordination with architectural, civil, and MEP teams

  • Detail standardization across buildings while accommodating site-specific needs

Project Outcome

Our detailing ensured on-time delivery, reduced field conflicts, and improved steel fabrication efficiency. By balancing repetitive elements with customized solutions across the five buildings, Structures Online played a vital role in enabling streamlined and scalable construction execution.
