Project Overview

The UTHSC SA Inpatient Facility project involved comprehensive steel detailing for a healthcare structure integrating vertical circulation systems, long-span walkways, and structural framing. The project required precise coordination between stair systems, truss-supported walkways, and bracing elements to ensure constructability and seamless integration.

Structures Online (SOL) developed detailed 3D models and fabrication-ready drawings, focusing on connection accuracy, alignment, and coordination across multiple structural systems and access components.

Scope of Work

• Multi-Level Stair Systems : Multi-flight stair assemblies including stringers, treads, landings, and support framing were modeled with precise geometry to support fabrication and erection.

• Ladder and Maintenance Access : Fixed ladder systems with supporting platforms and framing were detailed to ensure safe access and proper connectivity with adjacent structural members.

• Truss Walkway / Bridge System : A long-span truss-supported walkway was detailed with chords, bracing members, and gusset connections, ensuring structural clarity and fabrication accuracy.

• Bracing System : Diagonal bracing members were modeled with accurate orientation and gusset plate connections to provide structural stability.

• Miscellaneous Steel and Secondary Framing : Platforms, edge beams, support frames, and cantilever members were detailed with proper connection interfaces and alignment.

• Connection Detailing : All components include detailed connections such as bolted joints, weld preparations, base plates, anchor bolts, and gusset assemblies for fabrication readiness.
