Project Overview

The PM Gateway Airport project involved comprehensive steel detailing for an architecturally distinctive aviation facility designed to support airport operations and passenger infrastructure. The project featured complex structural geometries, specialized support systems, and custom framing arrangements that required a high level of coordination to ensure constructability and seamless integration.

Structures Online (SOL)provided steel detailing services for approximately 182 tons of structural steel, delivering detailed 3D models and fabrication-ready drawings. The project required precise coordination between structural, architectural, and operational components to support efficient fabrication and smooth field erection.

Scope of Work

Complex Structural Framework :

The primary structural framework incorporates custom framing arrangements, vertical support systems, and uniquely configured structural assemblies. Member alignment, elevations, and interface conditions were carefully coordinated to support both structural performance and architectural intent.

Roof and Canopy Systems :

The project includes extensive roof and canopy framing systems consisting of primary girders, secondary framing members, and support structures. Detailed modeling ensured accurate member alignment and seamless coordination throughout the facility while supporting efficient fabrication and installation.

Aviation Support Infrastructure :

Specialized steel assemblies were developed to support airport operations and passenger facilities. Elevated platforms, access systems, and custom support structures were integrated within the primary framing system while maintaining spatial coordination and operational functionality.

Connection Detailing for Fabrication :

All structural connections were developed with precise bolt layouts, weld specifications, and member interfaces to support fabrication accuracy and efficient site installation. Connection assemblies were fully coordinated to minimize field adjustments and optimize erection sequencing.

Advanced Modeling and Project Coordination :

Advanced 3D modeling techniques were utilized to create a fully coordinated structural model that improved visualization, enhanced clash detection, and streamlined communication between detailing, fabrication, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
