Project Description

Location: Rosharon, Texas

Client: S&H Steel Fabrication
Project Type: Industrial – Manufacturing & Distribution Campus
Scope: Steel Detailing for Column Splices, Brace Frames, Platforms, and Access Systems

Project Overview

Maxter Healthcare is developing a state-of-the-art personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturing campus at 14559 County Road 48 in Rosharon, Texas. The 215-acre site includes a 100,293-square-foot distribution building and a 318,089-square-foot production facility, designed to increase the domestic production of gloves and other medical-grade equipment. The project is planned across four phases and represents one of the largest PPE manufacturing facilities in the region.

Structures Online partnered on this ambitious development to deliver the steel detailing for multiple structures within the campus. Given the project’s large scale and precision requirements, our team provided 3D modelling and comprehensive connection detailing to ensure fabrication accuracy and structural alignment across the production and distribution buildings.

Scope of Work

Some key detailing work involved in this project were-

Column Splice Connections- (Refer Figure 1)
Column splice joints were detailed with high-Precision to ensure proper load transfer between multi-story columns. The splice assemblies incorporated splice plates and bolt arrangements optimized for field installation and alignment.

Brace Frame Assemblies- (Refer Figure 2)
Multiple braced frame systems were detailed throughout the structures to provide lateral stability. These assemblies required coordination between beam-column junctions and gusset plate configurations to maintain seismic and wind-load resistance standards.

Tank Platforms- (Refer Figure 3)
A network of tank platforms was detailed using channels, angles, and curved plates bolted together to form robust and accessible working decks. Each platform was detailed with precise bolt hole layouts and edge protection through handrail integration.

Pit Handrails and Ladders- (Refer Figure 4)
Throughout the site, pit handrails and vertical ladders were detailed for various operational zones. These assemblies were coordinated for safety compliance and fabricated with field adaptability in mind.

Key Deliverables

  • Shop and assembly drawings for      all major framing, platform, and access structures.

  • CNC data files and bolt      lists for fabrication optimization.

  • Coordination with fabricator and site team to ensure erection      sequence efficiency and dimensional accuracy.

Project Outcome

Through meticulous detailing and coordination, Structures Online contributed to the successful steel framework of the Maxter Healthcare PPE campus. Our work ensured that critical manufacturing and distribution facilities were built with precision, safety, and durability in mind. The project showcases how effective detailing and collaboration can bring large-scale industrial visions to life with both engineering accuracy and operational reliability.
