Project Description

Lamar CISD High School – Richmond, Texas

Location: Richmond, Texas
Client: Myrex Industries
Project Type: Institutional – Educational Facility
Scope: Steel Detailing for Main and Miscellaneous Steel, Stairs, Embeds, and Anchor Bolts

Project Overview

Lamar CISD High School, located in Richmond, Texas, serves students from Richmond, Rosenberg, and the greater Fort Bend County region as part of the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD)—one of Texas’s fastest-growing and most academically recognized school districts.

The new high school campus is designed to support both academic and athletic excellence, integrating flexible classroom spaces, performance venues, and athletic facilities under a modern steel-framed structure.

Structures Online partnered with Myrex Industries to deliver detailed 3D modeling and connection drawings for the school’s extensive steel framework. Our work focused on accuracy, constructability, and efficient coordination between engineering and fabrication teams—ensuring the project met both aesthetic and structural goals.

Scope of Work

Main Structural Framework
The building’s primary structure integrates wide-flange beams and columns, designed to support expansive roof and floor systems. Each connection was detailed to maintain alignment and minimize field welding, improving installation efficiency.

Miscellaneous Steel and Stairs
Multiple stair systems and miscellaneous components were modeled and detailed, featuring guardrails, stringers, and intermediate supports. These elements were customized to fit architectural layouts while meeting code and safety requirements.

Embeds and Anchor Bolts
Precise detailing of embeds and anchor bolts ensured accurate interface between structural steel and concrete foundations. Coordination with civil and structural drawings minimized field adjustments and ensured proper alignment during erection.

3D Coordination Model
A comprehensive 3D BIM model was developed to streamline coordination with other trades. The model captured all primary framing, stairs, and embedded components, allowing the fabricator to identify potential clashes before production.

Key Deliverables

  • Detailed shop and fabrication drawings for      main and miscellaneous steel.

  • Material take-offs for      accurate estimation and procurement.

  • 3D coordination model integrating steel-to-concrete      interfaces.

  • Embed and anchor bolt layout drawings to      ensure precise foundation coordination.

Project Outcome

Through advanced modeling and detailing precision, Structures Online played a vital role in the successful delivery of Lamar CISD High School. The project highlights our ability to combine technical accuracy, schedule-driven performance, and architectural collaboration—ensuring that each component contributed to a safe, efficient, and visually cohesive educational facility.
