Project Overview

The Calexico 2A project involved comprehensive steel detailing for a multi-level structure integrating primary and secondary framing systems across varying elevations. The project required careful coordination of complex column geometries, long-span framing, and architectural interfaces to ensure constructability and alignment.

Structures Online (SOL) delivered detailed 3D models and fabrication-ready drawings, focusing on connection accuracy, structural continuity, and seamless coordination between structural and architectural components.

Scope of Work

• Multi-Level Structural Coordination : The structure was modeled across multiple levels with integrated primary and secondary framing systems, ensuring alignment and consistent geometry across elevations.

• Complex Column Geometry : Inclined and bifurcated (Y-shaped) column supports were detailed with custom connections to accommodate angular transitions and ensure accurate fit-up.

• Longitudinal Framing System : A long-span truss-type system with diagonal bracing members was modeled with consistent alignment and connection detailing for structural continuity.

• Connection Detailing : All connections including shear tabs, end plates, gusset plates, and stiffeners were detailed with precise bolt layouts and fabrication-ready geometry.

• Architectural Interface Coordination : Structural steel elements were coordinated with architectural components such as screen walls and railing systems to ensure proper alignment and installation.
